Four PVC-clad, aluminium-framed industrial canopy buildings have been installed in Germany. The canopies provide shelter from the weather and full access for vehicles at either end.
Putting up the canopies takes very little time and they can be disassembled and moved if needed. The aluminium frame is held in place with concrete ballast blocks and the walls and roof are made of fire-resistant industrial PVC sheeting.
These lightweight yet incredibly strong structures provide large vehicle access and shelter for goods, vehicles and personnel. They are quick to erect and are recyclable at the end of their operational life after many years of reliable service.
Canopy Construction
Designed to withstand wind loads of 0.5 kN/m² and support snow loads of 117 kg/m² the canopies are built around strong extruded aluminium profiles joined together with steel connectors.
These four industrial canopies are sited on a mixture of tarmac, block paving and even grass so concrete ballast blocks were chosen to firmly anchor the structures to the range of surfaces.
As the canopies are open at either end, additional wind bracing made of steel wire ropes and steel beams was included for added structural stability.
With no need for insulation, the white roof and walls are constructed from robust single skin PVC which is translucent and fire resistant. The translucent walls, open ends and white PVC all maximise the amount of light that enters the canopies.
The gable ends were left open without gable PVC triangles.
